Fuzzy Duck 2011 Review

In the all too brief time we have between the years I’ve taken 10 minutes out to take a look at our company Fuzzy Duck; to review the work the Ducks are producing and our future goals.

I think there is an element of vanity in every creative, whether it be winning awards or simply have your mum telling you what a good picture you’ve drawn. We all want people to like our work, and this drives the standard of quality in whatever we do.

In 2011 I finally caught a glimpse of the company I dreamt Fuzzy Duck could be. A year producing broadcast commercials for Sky Sports and music videos that have been televised the globe over. Alongside billboards, magazine and bus side campaigns that pack a punch, we’ve produced corporate work that both we and our clients love and importantly blow the socks of the other fella’s.

Being competitive is a trait that we encourage, however this shouldn’t appear ugly like we’re trashing anyone to get ahead. It’s simply a desire to get the client’s message out to the world, besides, honest messages communicated in a unique way speak for themselves.

Finally for those who haven’t seen our lovely little film Time & Tide made towards the end of the year, take a look and let us know what you think:

This was a nice way to end 2011 and involving ourselves, our friends and family speaking and appearing in the film made it that little bit special. Thank you to to all our wonderful clients and to the two teams that merged in 2011 to make Fuzzy Duck a real force and provide even more creative options and experience.

The very best wishes for 2012.

New Year’s Resolutions

PROJECT UNDERDOG: CHARITY MUSIC VIDEO

A music single made by unsigned artists and produced by a young girl who thought she could make a difference. With proceeds going to community groups in a direct response to the UK riots, the Ducks felt it was a good project to help with.

DAWSONS: ROCKING IT OUT!

The UK’s largest musical instrument store commissioned Fuzzy Duck to establish a fresh, vibrant new advertising identity. Using some inspiring shots of Guitar icon Slash, from Guns ‘n’ Roses, we created a striking new look that was right on the beat.

Movember Madness

Several Ducks fashioned the facial hair for Movember. Aside from looking ’70′s Copshow Cool’ the guys raised money and awareness for men’s health charities.

Well done to all who took part and a big thanks to everyone for the sponsors, we raised a grand total of: £198!

October Catch Up

It’s been a busy few weeks with feathers flying at the Canal (or The Circus as we’re now calling the office having seen Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy)

After finishing the branding for the United Utilities Night At The Movies Charity Ball, a few of the team along with Justine McGuinn of Just PR took up the invite to mix with the likes of Five Live’s Nicky Campbell, Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly and Olympic Athlete Rebecca Romero.

We’ve also had a number of new staff members join us permanently having worked freelance and part time in the past. Taking to the Canal (Circus) like a duck to water are Seb and Mark, welcome gentlemen.

That aside we’ve been producing invites for the annual Société Français De Biosthétique conference, setting fire to pianos for a soon to be released music video and working on Christmas campaigns all fuelled by Deb’s magnificent cupcakes. If that wasn’t enough to keep us out of trouble 28th October was wear pink to work day in aid of Breast Cancer Research. Once again Deb supplied cakes that were sold to raise money along with a donation from everyone for wearing snazzy ties (Phil, Nigel, Al) tenuous t-shirts (Seb), frankly ludicrous loud shirts (Charlie) and a suprisingly sober pink polo shirt (Dave).

WA CREATIVE TALK

The ducks were out inspiring minds and creative thought in this talk to Warrington’s design community on Wednesday 19th October 2011. As well as a breakdown of the duck ethos: create, inspire, enjoy Dave & Nigel also spoke of billboards and beer mats – don’t worry, it all made sense…we hope.

MANCHESTER LET’S ‘AVE IT: COME ON, GROUP HUG

Using our powers for good, we designed this logo in response to the recent troubles. The logo went viral – in 24 hours over 25,000 people had passed it on via twitter and then Dawsons music (themselves victims of the riots) took it on, printing and giving away T-Shirts across the city.

Please note that all the ducks have moved in to the Stockport studio, long time home of our film production team. We’ll be sending a newsletter out in the coming weeks to give you all the details but in the meantime please take note of the address below for any correspondence.
